Session 181 - August 11, 2020: Proto-brass-tip

Early in the design process, we discussed the possibility of protecting the desk's legs with brass ferrules (rings or wrappings of metal protecting and binding surfaces). While commercial ferrules are available pre-fabricated, the custom nature/dimensions of our desk demanded a tailored solution - sheets of brass to be cut, bent, and secured with glue/brass nails. We experimented by creating paper patterns and prototyping until a snug fit was could be achieved.
